SETTA was founded with the belief that tourism can create positive economic, social, cultural and environmental outcomes when it is planned and practiced responsibly.

There are several tourism associations and organizations working across different areas of the industry. However, SETTA was created with a specific focus on bringing sustainable, responsible and ethical tourism to the centre of the tourism industry's collective efforts. We believe that meaningful change requires a strong and active network of people and organizations that share this vision.

Many initiatives working towards responsible and sustainable tourism operate with relatively small networks and limited participation. SETTA aims to help address this gap by building one of the largest networks of like-minded tourism stakeholders focused on sustainable and responsible tourism. Our goal is to bring together tourism professionals, businesses and organizations so they can connect, share knowledge, collaborate and create greater collective impact.

We want joining SETTA to be simple, accessible and hassle-free, so that more people from across the tourism industry can become part of this movement. By growing a broad and engaged network, we aim to create opportunities for stakeholders to learn from one another, collaborate on meaningful initiatives and contribute to a more sustainable tourism sector.

SETTA is registered as a not-for-profit association and holds applicable registrations under Sections 12A and 80G of the Income Tax Act. These registrations support SETTA's non-profit structure and provide applicable tax benefits in accordance with prevailing income-tax rules.
